Will Montana’s Population Growth Rate Continue to Decline in 2025?
Tuesday, February 11, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Wachholz College Center at FVCC
For the last few years, Montana’s population has swelled as new residents from California, Washington, Oregon, and surrounding areas have flocked to the state during the pandemic. Not any longer. From 2020 to 2021, Montana was the 2nd-fastest growing state in terms of population. In 2024, it is the 37th and lags behind the nation. In fact, Montana’s 0.5% year-over-year population growth rate is the lowest since 2002. The decline could be partly due to housing scarcity and costs, as well as the remote-work boom receding.
Montana’s population, housing affordability, and remote work will be just a few of the things we’ll be addressing at the 2025 Economic Outlook Seminar held around the state from January – March. Join us this year to learn more about the latest economic trends in Montana and the nation. In addition, we’ll be focusing on generative AI and how it could change the way we do our jobs and how the economy operates. Don’t miss this information-packed, half-day Economic Outlook Seminar!
