Business Loans
We offer business loans when gap financing doesn’t exist—bank lending or owner equity is not sufficient to meet a business’s full financial needs—Montana West partners with local lenders to give businesses a path forward. Montana West’s business lending fills a need when traditional sources of financing are insufficient or not available.
Montana PTAC
The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) was authorized by Congress in 1985 in an effort to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in the government marketplace. Administered by the Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the program provides matching funds through cooperative agreements with state and local governments and non-profit organizations for the establishment of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) to provide procurement assistance.
Montana West has hosted Flathead County’s PTAC office since 2014. Montana West’s PTAC office is a joint effort between Montana West Economic Development and the Flathead County Economic Development Authority.
Big Sky Trust Fund
The Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund Program (BSTF) provides state funds through the Montana Department of Commerce Office of Tourism and Business Development, to promote long-term, stable economic growth throughout the state. BSTF funds are derived from the interest received from the Montana Coal Severance Tax Permanent Trust Fund, designed to promote economic development throughout the state.
There are two categories of projects eligible for BSTF funding, job creation projects, and planning projects. BSTF Job Creation funds are awarded on behalf of the eligible assisted business, who create good-paying full-time jobs for Montana residents at or above the county average wage, and whose application meets the requirements of the program.
