Financing Programs

MWED Financing Programs are designed to stimulate economic development activity by assisting the private sector to create/retain jobs in Northwest Montana.

These programs fill a funding need when alternative sources of public and private financing are not available and/or are inadequate. We will assess the project for 100% direct financing or target a combination of bank and agency sources of capital. Specific terms and conditions vary according to the funding source.

Our process starts with a telephone call to Tina Oliphant at 406-257-7711 to discuss your project.  If we think the project supports our goals and we can structure a loan, we’ll ask you to submit an Application and Supporting Documentation.

Along with the loan application, we will ask you to submit a Business Plan with a 24 months Cash Flow Projections and historical tax returns for existing businesses.

We will offer you assistance with your business plan and projections, or we can point you to other local resources such as the Small Business Development Center for this purpose.

Our loan program funding comes from two federal programs.

• USDA’s Intermediary Relending Program
