Our Vision:

Montana West Economic Development will develop within Flathead County a diversified, sustainable  economic base while maintaining our quality of life and providing a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and healthy growth.

Our Mission:

Montana West Economic Development will enhance the economic base of Flathead County by identifying and supporting economic opportunities that provide quality job growth, job retention, community wealth and increasing wage rates.

Strategies:

1.  Marketing the Region Nationally

• Develop and implement the One Valley, One Vision Marketing strategy to raise awareness of the Flathead Valley/ Glacier Park region as a great place to do business.
• Market to industries  and businesses that require the underutilized skills of valley residents focusing on Outdoor Recreation Equipment Manufacturers, Metals and Machining Manufacturers and Medical Tourism.
• Maintain a state-of-the-art, economic development centered Website that is user friendly to entice relocating companies to inquire personally to learn more about the Flathead.
• Identify industries for which locating in the Flathead is an financial or qualitative advantage and recruit them.

2.  Business Retention, Expansion and Capital Investment

• Continue to partner with other organizations in Flathead County in the Business Expansion And Retention Program (BEAR) to identify the real needs of local businesses.
• Continue the Entrepreneur-to-Entrepreneur Program (E2) to provide technical assistance and networking opportunities to new and growing businesses in the region.
• Identify existing businesses with the potential to be “high-impact” in revenue and employment growth and provide technical assistance.

3.  Operations, Communications and Public Relations

• Grow our qualified leads base and resource network by engaging local individuals and  coordinating with local communities.
• Design, create and distribute a business focused communication vehicle to keep economic developments of our region in the spotlight regionally and nationally.
